DrainPro features a comprehensive range of pipes and fittings, from 40mm to 160mm, along with an extensive array of accessories. This diverse range allows for great flexibility in design and installation, which caters to various drainage and sewerage pipe needs. Specialised fittings, such as 75mm water seal traps with height risers, provide numerous design opportunities, addressing standard and complex requirements.
Application for Astral DrainPro Drainage Pipe
DrainPro drainage pipes are designed to excel in various demanding environments, which makes them a versatile choice for numerous applications.
1. Commercial Kitchens
In the high-demand environment of commercial kitchens, where extreme temperatures and high-volume waste are common, DrainPro proves its superiority. Its ability to handle temperatures up to 95°C short-term and 90°C long-term ensures that it can effectively manage the heat generated by cooking processes and trade waste. Its durability and thermal resistance make it an ideal choice for such challenging applications.
2. Residential Buildings
For residential buildings, DrainPro drainage pipes offer exceptional sound insulation and shock resistance. The mineral-filled polypropylene material, combined with a three-layer pipe construction, significantly reduces noise from waste discharge. This characteristic enhances comfort and tranquillity within the home plumbing pipes, which makes it a superior choice over conventional drainage pipe systems.
3. Chemical Labs
Chemical laboratories often face unique challenges due to the diverse range of chemicals used. Astral DrainPro’s excellent chemical resistance, covering pH values from 2 to 12, makes it ideal for managing aggressive chemical waste. Its resistance to corrosion, rusting and pitting ensures that the drainage pipes perform reliably even under harsh conditions.
Features of DrainPro 3 Layer Drainage Pipes and Fittings
1. High Impact Strength and Fatigue Resistance
DrainPro’s semi-crystalline polypropylene imparts outstanding impact and fatigue resistance. This robustness addresses common issues encountered with traditional systems, such as breakages and damage during transportation, handling and storage of drainage pipes.
2. Lower Thermal Expansion
The innovative three-layer construction of DrainPro, featuring a mineral-reinforced middle layer, minimises thermal expansion. Compared to HDPE materials, the thermal expansion of DrainPro drainage pipes is almost half to offer a stable and reliable system even with temperature fluctuations. The push-fit connection system further enhances stability by accommodating length changes due to thermal expansion and contraction.
3. Smooth and Abrasion-Resistant Inner Surface
The inner surface of DrainPro pipes is smooth and abrasion-resistant. This feature ensures drainage pipes remain free from deposits and scale to maintain high flow rates throughout the system lifespan.
4. Simple and Quick Joining
The push-fit rubber ring joining system used in DrainPro provides a leak-proof connection, simplifying installation and maintenance. This system allows for easy replacement and transfer of pipes without the need for cutting, saving time and reducing labour efforts.
5. Eco-Friendly Solution
DrainPro drainage pipes are committed to environmental sustainability. The manufacturing and installation processes require minimal energy and the 100% recyclable material contributes to a greener choice. By reducing the consumption of natural resources and minimising environmental impact, DrainPro supports eco-friendly practices.
6. Lower Cost
The lightweight nature of DrainPro pipes reduces transportation and handling costs. The easy installation process, facilitated by the push-fit system, further lowers labour costs. These cost benefits make DrainPro a competitive alternative to heavier, traditional drainage pipe systems.
7. UV Stability and Long Life
Manufactured with UV-stabilised materials, DrainPro Drainage Pipes are protected from the degrading effects of UV energy. This feature extends the product lifespan, ensuring long-term reliability and performance for your drainage system.
8. Shock and Vibration Proof
The flexible push-fit system of the DrainPro pipes offers additional resistance to shock and vibrations. This characteristic is particularly advantageous in areas prone to seismic activity, helping maintain the integrity of the drainage pipes during earthquakes and other disturbances.
9. Sound Insulation
DrainPro offers exceptional sound insulation. The three-layer pipe construction and PP mineral-filled material effectively absorb airborne sound and mechanical vibrations. Tested according to German standards DIN EN14366 and DIN 4109, DrainPro demonstrates superior noise reduction compared to conventional drain pipe systems. The system efficiently manages noise excitation from wastewater flow, enhancing comfort and reducing disturbances.
Astral Pipes DrainPro represents a significant advancement in drainage system piping solutions. With its superior material properties, extensive range of applications and eco-friendly design, DrainPro is set to establish new benchmarks in the industry. Whether dealing with high-temperature environments, residential noise concerns or challenging chemical conditions, DrainPro provides a reliable, efficient and sustainable solution. Explore the transformative benefits of the DrainPro drainage system and enhance its efficiency with excellent performance.
How to Install a Drainage Pipe Using Push-Fit Joints Without Compensator Socket?
When connecting drainage pipes with a maximum length of 3 metres (9.5 feet), it is vital to account for potential thermal expansion. A maximum of 10 mm (0.4 inches) may be removed from the sleeve due to thermal effects. This allows for proper adjustment of push-fit connections between fittings. Follow these steps for a secure push-fit coupling:
Step 1: Cutting the Drainage Pipes
Astral DrainPro drainage pipes allow easy cutting with a pipe cutter or a saw. To ensure a precise fit, cut the pipe at a 90° angle to its axis. After cutting, it is important to remove all burs, cutting residues and sharp edges from the pipe end. For optimal performance, chamfer the pipe ends only when connecting to fittings. However, chamfering is not necessary when connecting to a compensator or the end of the compensator.
Step 2: Inspect and Clean
Check the position and condition of the lip seal within the coupler channel. If needed, clean both the fitting and the gasket. Also, ensure the push-fit end of the pipe and the fitting are clean.
Step 3: Apply Lubricant
Apply a thin, uniform layer of lubricant to the end of the coupling. Avoid using oil or grease because it can interfere with the connection.
Step 4: Connect the Pipe
Insert the end of the pipe into the coupler and push it in firmly.
Step 5: Adjust and Fix
Slide the drainage pipe, not the fitting, approximately 10 mm (0.4 inches) out of the coupling. This adjustment accounts for any thermal expansion and prevents slipping. For vertical pipe installations, maintain a 10 mm (0.4 inches) gap to allow for expansion and prevent misalignment. Once assembled, secure the pipes with collars immediately.
By following these installation procedures, you ensure the reliable performance of the DrainPro drainage system, which enhances its efficiency and durability in managing waste and wastewater.
