Plus+StiRex

Post-Tensioning Corrugated PP Ducts

Astral Plus+StiRex ducts and flat ducts, made from polypropylene (PP), offer a distinct advantage in the internal bonded post-tensioning of tendons in pre-stressed concrete. These ducts find application in various projects such as flyovers, bridges, nuclear containments, and offshore platforms, via ducts, underpasses, tunnels, and more.

Flat ducts, in particular, are highly favored in construction sectors where the utilization of round section ducts in post-tensioned slabs is impractical due to the constraints posed by the slab thickness.

The unique properties of Plus+StiRex ducts and flat ducts, including their composition of PP, make them well-suited for these applications. They provide efficient tendon placement and tensioning within the concrete structures, contributing to their overall strength and durability. These ducts play a crucial role in enhancing the performance and longevity of critical infrastructure projects in the field of bonded post-tensioning of tendons.

    FAQs

    PE OR PP material is used for PT Ducts.

    Ducts can have either continuous or intermittent circular corrugation, depending on whether they are for round or flat profiles. Continuous corrugation is used for round profiles, while intermittent corrugation is suitable for flat profiles. The choice depends on project requirements and structure shape.

    To protect tendons from corrosion.

    µ = 0.10 to 0.14

    A minimum carbon content of ≥ 2% is required for UV stabilization purposes. This carbon content helps enhance the duct's resistance to UV radiation, ensuring its durability and longevity in outdoor applications.

    Ducts play a crucial role in bonded post-tensioning systems as they provide protection to the post-tensioning strands once construction is complete. These ducts serve as enclosures for the strands, safeguarding them from external elements and potential damage. By housing the post-tensioning strands within the ducts, their longevity and performance are ensured, contributing to the overall strength and reliability of the post-tensioning system.

    0.5 bar water pressure.

    Tests can be conducted to confirm the bond between the duct and grout, as well as the duct and concrete. Pull-out tests assess the bond between the duct and grout, while bond strength tests evaluate the adhesion between the duct and concrete. These tests ensure the integrity of the bonded post-tensioning system.
